Ken Fisher and Brian McCullagh presented the plan to the members at a General meeting.
While there was majority support, there was a significant rump of the Club which was of the
opinion that the upgrade would bankrupt the Club, coming as it did so soon after the building
of the Lake Sorell cabin.
The upgrade was eventually financed from the Club’s cash surplus and subscriptions, and
was undertaken by a large group of volunteers, organised by Ken Fisher and Brian
McCullagh, and has resulted in the very practical and liveable facility we have today.
